UKR junior Olga Roschypkina and Lilia Podkopayeva. A veritable miniature version of Lilia. Same body type, toe point, facial appearance, and style.

Jesus Carballo and little brother Manuel Carballo. Absolute carbon copy.

Team RUS men's leotards and Team UKR men's leos. Almost identical purple designs made it very hard to tell which team was which.

Svetlana Khorkina and Brigette Nielsen - Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

Jani Tanskannen (FIN) and Alexei Nemov. Really! It may take a few seconds of convincing, but I think you will agree!

Mistaken Identity award

John Crumlish, who was mistaken for Bart Conner by a Russian judge.

Goofy Rule award

5-3-3 rule. Kind of made me feel like I got ripped off in a way, and there seemed to be less opportunities for strategy during the team competition since the teams couldn't drop a low score.

Blinding Leotard award

Team Russia women, who had bright peachy/orange neon leotards. Even my photos failed to capture the neonic quality of these ones!

Runner up - Svetlana Khorkina, EF competition, with a bright lime green/yellow neon number. Ouch!

The Strange Choice of Music award

'Anchors Away' for the march in music, 'Stars and Stripes Forever' for the rotation change music, and 'William Tell Overture' for the award music.

The Senior Who is Shorter Than the Juniors award

Ludmilla Yezhova - She is smaller than Zamolodchikova (who is also a senior but also very small)!

Runner up - Ludivine Furnon.

The "Caution! Gymnasts Stretching Out in the Hallway" award

Ukrainian women seniors. Almost squished a couple of them accidentally.

Nicest Leotards award

Svetlana Khorkina, AA competition, with a black and gold glitter combination that was very elegant and classy.

Runner up - Ludivine Furnon and Isabelle Severino, with a black and gold combo that resembles Elena Vitrichenko's gold leotard. Nice!

Also - Team UKR women. A nice velvety all purple design.

And - Adrienn Varga's all white leotard during Vault finals.

Bummer Dropout award

Adrienn Varga dropping out of AA competition.

Inga Shkarupa and Yelena Ryzhkova not performing on beam. Boo hoo!

McDonald's on Moskovsky Prospect. Gymnasts seen there include Bondarenko, Nikiferow, Belenki, Varga and team HUN among many others.

Something That Would Be Nice to Have award

The 'Yell at Your Star Athlete' award

Greek men's head coach to Ioannis Melissanidis after EF FX. Gives Ioannis the third degree after his routine and then storms off the floor. Ioannis is up in arms.

The "I blew it on my EF Routines" award

Elvire Teza. Falls on balance beam and uneven bars.

Also Alyona Polozkova - Fell on both Vault EF and Floor EF to place last in both.

Runner up - Florent Maree. Very promising Jr. Men's AA champ blows almost all his EF events. However, he shows extreme power and poise on the EF high bar to claim gold. Watch for him in the future!

Third World award

Public restrooms in Russia! Don't fall into the toilet! (If you can call it that).

"I don't mind getting my picture taken" award

Yuri Chechi, Adrienn Varga, Elena Grosheva, Dina Kochetkova, Annika Reeder, the Carballo Brothers, Dimosthenis Tambakos (I think I spelled his name right!).

This one dude who was beating the living poop out of another guy on Arbat Street in Moscow.

The "I wish she still used her old FX music" award

Vasiliki Tsavdaridou(sp?) - Replaces her fun and cool Greek music from Atlanta and Lausanne with a different piece. *Sniffle!*
